With the first episode of “The Andy Griffith Show” on October 3, 1960 Television was never the same. America was introduced to Andy and his Family and Friends on “The Danny Thomas Show” on February 15.1960. It was never out of the top ten during it original eight seasons, and 249 episodes. The “Andy Griffith Show” runs on many local station and cable network “TVLand”
Mayberry is a fictional town inspired by Mt. Airy, North Carolina native Andy Griffith. Many of the shows townspeople, business, streets and landmarks come from Mt Airy.
